It’s almost Thanksgiving and we’re all taking stock of what matters most in our lives: identifying the things we’re thankful for of course, and the people we want to be around the most. Many Door County visitors and locals have made it their family tradition to enjoy holiday meals in the comfort of one of our fabulous restaurants, opting for less stress and a guaranteed great meal, not to mention – no clean up!

Saturday is Baileys Harbor’s Halloween Party & Spooky Café . Kids can Trick-or-Treat from 4-6pm throughout town and the Halloween Party will go on in the Town Hall from 5-7pm, featuring a costume contest for adults and children with prizes and a brand new Scavenger Hunt! Hot dogs, snacks, and beverages (including beer & wine for the grownup ghouls) will be available as well. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult please.
This weekend is also Fish Creek’s Jack O’Lantern Days starting Friday night Oct. 30 at Hands On Art Studio for the Adults Only Art Night at 6:30pm, and continuing all day on Halloween with mask-making, pumpkin-carving, Trick-or-Treating from 2-4pm, a Costume Contest and a Costume Parade, and wraps up at dusk on Saturday with the Great Pumpkin Lighting in downtown Fish Creek.
Independence Day weekend in Door County is a spectacle to be savored as each town celebrates the holiday in special ways including a Renaissance Faire, lots of live music, delicious food and drink, two parades, pie and ice cream eating contests, games and activities, and of course, fabulous Fireworks displays on July 3, 4, and 5!

Door County’s Concerts in the Park series began this week and will continue tonight Thursday, June 18th when Jeanne Kuhns’ band Small Forest plays at Egg Harbor’s Harborview Park from 5-7pm (inside at Landmark Resort in case of rain). The Baileys Harbor community becomes one big family this weekend, so join in the fun! The festivities begin at 4pm at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall where you can make ornaments for your tree or for gifts with the Baileys Harbor Historical Society, enjoy food and drinks, and sit with Santa so you can tell him what you want for Christmas. At 6pm head out to the front lawn for the annual tree lighting and sing a carol or two with friends and family. Ephraim is especially picturesque when lit up for the holidays, so bundle up and walk through town or hop a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride! Bring the kids for Holiday Stories at the Ephraim Library from 11:30am-12:30pm, and stop by the Ephraim Moravian Church for their ADVENTure & Sweets Sale from 11am-2pm. Visit with Santa from 1-3pm and check out the live Reindeer display! Inside the Ephraim Village Hall, warm up with Chili & Soup from noon until it’s gone, sponsored by Chef’s Hat Café and Summer Kitchen and Cookie Exchange Plates will be for sale. All afternoon, participate in cookie decorating, holiday crafts, and heritage games, then join in the Christmas Carol sing-along before heading outside to Harborside Park for the Tree Lighting Ceremony!
