Drink Coffee Finds New Home on Sister Bay Hill

 Have no fear; we have not lost our beloved cookie and coffee shop that has become a landmark of the Sister Bay Hill. They’ve just moved downhill a little bit. Opening at the shop’s new location, Rachel Lohman and her husband Scooter couldn’t be happier.

The new home for Drink Coffee is the former Moretti’s building. The couple officially bought the building on February 22 of this year. Since then, they have spent nearly every day completely redoing both the interior and exterior of the building.

The new store will feature a full kitchen and bakery, outdoor seating and carry out options. Rachel’s creativity gets to flourish here in this larger home. She will be expanding the menu to feature salads, soups, Premium Sandwiches, and more.

A great new option will be the carry out lunch boxes including a sandwich, chips and a cookie. These would be perfect for those heading to the beach, out on the boat, or back to work.  compress front

The Bakery will be serving up croissants, cookies, and of course the delectable Cherry Queen Cookies that have become her best seller.

It’s the shop’s fifteenth year in operation and Rachel has owned it for the past eight years. They are planning to be open before Memorial Day weekend but Scooter, chiming in from the rooftop busy removing shingles, thinks it’ll be sooner.

Bitter Seeds Launches Upcoming Thursday Night Dinner & a Movie Series, Nov 1

…a beautiful and award-winning documentary that explores the future of how we grow things, weighing in on the worldwide debate over the changes created by industrial agriculture.
India has more farmers than any country in the world, and they are in a crisis that is unprecedented in human history. Every 30 minutes a farmer in India kills himself in despair. In a village at the center of the suicide epidemic, a farmer and his family struggle to keep his land and a teenage girl makes her first steps to become a journalist and tell the world about the crisis. Bitter Seeds raises questions about the human cost of genetically-modified agriculture and the future of how we grow things.

While the subject matter of this recent film is unsettling, the cinematography and the overall production level is spectacular. Bitter Seeds is the final film in the Globalization Trilogy, a 12-year-long project by director Micha X. Peled, which follows his Store Wars: When Wal-Mart Comes to Town and China Blue. While the first film in the series focused on consumption habits in the U.S. and the second film investigated the manufacturing of clothing, Bitter Seeds looks at the raw materials. It goes to India and follows the farmers growing the cotton exported to China’s garment factories to be used for the clothes sold in the West.

Breakfast is Back at The Cookery in Fish Creek!

The Cookery is excited to announce that it will be serving breakfast again daily.

“Customers told that they miss us for breakfast on weekdays, so we listened and are now offering breakfast everyday,” Dick Skare, owner of the restaurant, said.

Breakfast will be served 8 a.m. to noon. The menu includes customer favorites such as granola French toast, buttermilk pancakes, omelets and buttermilk biscuits with house made jam.

Take out coffee and bakery including caramel rolls, cinnamon rolls and cherry scones will be available from the lobby.

The Cookery opens for the season on Friday, April 27. The restaurant and wine bar are located at 4135 Highway 42, Fish Creek.  Visit to see a full breakfast menu or for more information.
