Paul Santoriello is the Winemaker and Production Director at Door Peninsula Winery. Enthusiastic about all aspects of winemaking and production, Paul came to Wisconsin in 2003 to create premium fruit and grape wines. In 2011 he launched Door County Distillery located at the Door Peninsula Winery. A California native, Paul started in the wine industry in 1997 working harvest at David Bruce Winery. Seduced by the experience in fine winemaking, Paul attended UC Davis and completed a degree in viticulture, plant biology, and microbiology. This background led to positions at The Wine Lab in Napa and EJ Gallo in Modesto. Since 2001 Paul has been involved in winemaking, vineyard management, research, sensory, and wine analysis—and has remained active in the wine industry in the mid-west and California.
