Baileys Harbor is alive with the sounds of the Holidays this weekend as the Ridges Sanctuary celebrates The Ridges Natural Christmas and the village celebrates Christmas in the Harbor on Saturday, December 7th. Not to make you choose, these two holiday events overlap for just an hour.
Before you enjoy the festivities and join in the carols, stop in the DC Deli for a tasty espresso drink and breakfast. Then visit the shops in Baileys Harbor and shop local for great gifts like puppets, games, and books from Novel Ideas, quality footwear from Moccasin Works, great accessories and American made clothing from What Next?, and if Nelson True Value Shopping Center doesn’t have it, you don’t need it!
The Ridges Natural Christmas will run from 2-5pm. This much-loved Christmas program will feature an enchantingly decorated Nature Center, holiday music, cookies and cider, a wreath-making workshop, arts and crafts, nature hikes (if you’ll brave the cold!), viewing of the Range Lights, and a few surprises!
Then head to the Baileys Harbor Town Hall from 4-6pm for Christmas in the Harbor, offering food and drinks, more arts and crafts including ornament making with the Baileys Harbor Historical Society, a visit with Santa, caroling led by Small Forest (Jeanne Kuhns, Marybeth Mattson, and Patrick Palmer), and the annual Tree Lighting at 6pm.
After the Tree Lighting, enjoy a fabulous meal at the Harbor Fish Market & Grille and don’t leave before you make your reservations for their famous Christmas Day Buffet. The Buffet will be served from 10am-4pm on Christmas Day, December 25th, and feature Oven Roasted Turkey with Old Fashioned Stuffing, Apple Cider Glazed Pit Ham, Chef Carved Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Baked Alaskan Salmon with Chunky Cucumber Dill Sauce, and a Great Selection of Classic and Creative Sides, Appetizers & Salads, plus a Dazzling Decadent Dessert Selection, for $19.95 per person or $8.95 for children under age 11. Reservations Encouraged! (920) 839-9999.
