Baileys Harbor, WI (June 6, 2014): Evan Murdock and the Imperfect Strangers are bringing original country roots rock to the Door County Beer Festival stage June 14.
Murdock, who earned acclaim playing with Madison bands Lonesome Rogues and Kentucky Waterfalls before forming the Imperfect Strangers, describes his music as “Midwestern Americana with a pinch of sass.” Others have called his rock-tinged folk style “a playful version of old-school country.”
Murdock’s Imperfect Strangers consist of Aaron Jossart on accordion and vocals, Count This Penny vocalist Amanda Rigell, Ben Wolf on drums and Pat Logterman on bass.
Joining the imperfect strangers is a favorite of Door County audiences, Highland Road. Made up of northern Door County residents Andy Coulson, Tad Gilster, Tony Gebauer and Rick Gordon, they call themselves “back porch pickers”– semi-professional musicians who love the driving instrumentals and haunting harmonies of both traditional and progressive bluegrass.
They’ll perform bluegrass in the truest tradition of Scottish, Irish, and English immigrants who inspired the musical storytelling genre.
Tickets to the third annual celebration of craft beer, local food, and live music are on sale at www.doorcountybeer.com. The VIP event featuring New Glarus founder Deb Carey has already sold out.
