Door County proudly welcomes the Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship to Sturgeon Bay this weekend, Sept. 17-20, 2015. While you’re in town, don’t miss the Local Farmers Market all weekend starting at noon on Friday, 8am on Saturday, and 11am on Sunday, and check out kids activities, demo boat tours, and more at CenterPointe Marina, where weigh-ins will also take place, including the final weigh-in and Awards on Sunday. Friday night you can enjoy live music from 7-9pm with the Dow Jones band at Martin Park. Saturday, Sept. 19 is Sturgeon Bay’s annual Harvest Festival featuring a classic car show running down Third Avenue which will be shut down so you can stroll freely to visit arts and crafts booths and local shops with in store specials. Enjoy more live music by Hot Off the Grill from 11:30am to 4:30pm while you shop, check out cars, and enjoy delicious food from local vendors and restaurants. At 5:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 19, gather at the Main Stage at CenterPointe Marina for the Street Art Auction featuring three free form pieces including a Bass carved from white cedar, autographed by the top 50 Bassmaster competitors and a 150 lb. Sturgeon carved from white pine, as well as 19 traditional Sturgeon embellished by local artists. The auction is set to be fast paced and live, with all proceeds benefiting the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center and the artist. As you head north in Door County this weekend, be friendly to any cyclists you see – Saturday is the Peninsula Century Fall Challenge event!
Saturday is also Egg Harbor Ale Fest at Harbor View Park, 7809 Hwy 42 in Egg Harbor. Drink Safely – don’t drive! There will be complimentary trolley transportation between Egg Harbor lodgings and restaurants and the AleFest grounds downtown from 11am-7pm. The festival will run from 1-5pm for general admission ($45) with VIP admission ($87) at noon. Designated driver and non-drinker admission is just $15! Delicious food from local vendors will be available for purchase all day. Sample over 100 craft beers from 40 different brewers, including Egg Harbor’s own Shipwrecked Brew Pub and enjoy live music from the One 2 Many Band throughout the festival and go home with your own commemorative pint glass!
